NFL Power Rankings #22

Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars were a team that could put a points and big numbers, but really did it by always throwing the ball because they were always behind.  In the offseason, they were the winners of the offseason, by getting two top 5 talents, Jalen Ramsey and Myles jack, in the draft. They are also getting last year’s first round pick Dante Fowler. They also signed big name free agents like Malik Jackson, Prince Amukamara, Tashaun Gibson, Kelvin Beachum, and Chris Ivory. Let’s look at the upcoming roster. Blake Bortles is definitely a quarterback on the rise. He put up huge numbers last year with 4428 yards and 35 touchdowns. Those numbers are a little inflated because they were always behind, but with a more talented roster, let’s see how well he does. Maybe less passing attempts more wins. The running back situation is solid. Both Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon can carry the load so let’s see who gets the majority of the carries. The wide receivers are also really good. Allen Robinson is a monster. Great Speed-size combination. Allen Hurns is a great number 2. They really have a young exciting offense and it’s going to be fun to see them grow and develop together for the next couple years. The tight end has a big name in Julius Thomas, but has trouble staying healthy. The oline is bad. They signed Beachum from the steelers and lets see how he mixes with Joeckel (Major Bust), Linder, Cann, and Parnell. Ouch. The defense has a LOT of talent, but most of them have little experience together. The dline is potentially good. They have three new pieces, with Dante Fowler, Malik Jackson, and Yannick Ngakoue joining Jared Odrick and Roy Miller as a rotation. The linebackers are good too. Telvin Smith is a young stud for them, Paul Posluszny and dan Skuta serve as serviceable starters. Myles Jack could eventually start as he is a young stud. The cornerbacks have a lot of talent as well. Jalen Ramsey is a stud and a futute HOF type talent. Reminds me so much of Richard Sherman. Behind him are veterans like Prince Amukamara and Davon House. Tashaun Gibson and John Cyprien complete an ultra talented defense. There is so much talent, but the youth on the roster and a lot of these players have no experience playing with each other, so I think one more year and then they will explode.
