Winnners and losers of week 1 NFL

Winners:
Jared Goff:

The former first overall pick for the LA rams finally played like a number one pick. He was sensational, going 21-29 with 306 yards and a TD. He looked poised and confident, unlike last year, and really had command of the offense. He picked up his first career win and his team put up 46 points. He finally has the weapons and the protection to thrive, and he did just that week 1.

Odell’s contract negotionations:

Everyone who watched the Giants vs Cowboys noticed one thing. The offense is literally nothing without Odell. They play with no energy and it was an embarrassment. Odell now has tremendous amounts of leverage. He should use that leverage to cash in as the highest paid receiver in the NFL.

Rookie RB’s: So many rookie running backs played well this weekend. Kareem hunt had a monster 240 yds and 3 total TDS. Leonard Fornette tormented the number 1 defense from last year. Dalvin cook, Tarik Cohen, Alvin Kamara, and christian McCaffery all contributed in big ways. Overall, this weekend really showed us how talented last years running back class truly was.

Calais Campbell: We all had a feeling the Jaguars defense would be good, but not this good. The one guy that stood out was Calais Campbell. He has 3.5 sacks. In the first half. He finished with 4 on the day, abusing the Texans O-line and officially giving Tom Savage PDSD.

Losers:

Andy Dalton:

He was so bad on Sunday. He has 4 interceptions, a fumble, and his team scored 0 points. He only threw for 170 and 50% completion percentage. It was a day to forget for the red rifle.

Fantasy stars: besides Antonio Brown and LeSean McCoy, every other high pick had a bad game. Julio and AJ Green didn’t play well, Odell didn’t play, Le’veon Bell only had 10 carries and sucked, and last but not least David Johnson struggled before dislocating his wrist, so he’s out for the year. Definitely a horrible day for fantasy owners and the stars.

NFL offenses: here is a crazy stat. Last year, only one team, the LA Rams, averaged less then 300 yards of offense. This weekend, 17 teams finished with less then 300 yards of offense. Everyone looked rusty, especially established veteran QB’s. ( Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger, Manning)

The fans: it was the start of the NFL season and everyone was so excited including me. Turns out we got our hopes up for nothing, because this week was horrible. No exciting games, no nail biters, just a bunch of bad football. So disappointing.
