Grade:81

Round 3

Walton is a very athletic runner with great speed and agility. He can make guys miss with ease. He even has solid vision and also is willing in Pass pro. he is coming off a torn ACL so his draft stock is curious, but his playmaking ability is undeniable.

strengths

Walton athleticism is one of the best in the class. He has great speed and unreal quickness. He can avoid tackles with ease and make the defenders look silly. He has a great job of cutting up the field and catching the ball out of the backfield. He has also shown effort in Pass Pro. His vision is inconsistent, but sometimes he sees the field very well.

Weaknesses:

He tore his ACL in the middle of the season. That will cause his stock to take a hit. He tends to get cute and try to hit the homerun every time instead of getting the easy 4 yards. He is a smaller back who has durability issues. He sometimes panics and looses his patience.

Rest of QB grades NFL DRAFT

Kyle Lauletta- Richmond

Strengths: Lauletta is a QB from a small school, but when you turn on the film, there is definitely a lot to like. Lauletta is an accurate QB with good mechanics. He also has solid mobility and good pocket presence, as he can move around in the pocket. He also does a nice job of throwing on the run and showed toughness within the pocket. Overall, he is an underrated guy who can eventually develop into a starter.

Weakness: Lauletta doesn’t have a noodle arm, but his arm is pretty average. He is a guy from a one read system so he never really had to go through his progressions. His field vision will definitely have to improve.  He also makes questionable decisions, has trouble with turnovers, overthrows his receivers from time to time, and even has trouble with the snap. He is also a smaller QB which makes me wonder if he will hold up at the next level.

Round 3

Mason Rudolph- Oklahoma State

Strengths: Rudolph is a guy coming from a Mike Gundy offense, so he put up some huge numbers. But Rudolph has a descent amount of traits that makes him intriguing. He has really good size for the position to go with pretty good accuracy. He is a guy who has really good mechanics, he takes care of the football, and his stats speak for themselves. He is a very accomplished QB.

Weakness: While Rudolph is a big dude, he kinda has a noodle arm. Also, he comes from a system which makes QB’s look better then they actually are by allowing them to complete easy passes. In this system, the QBs are required to make one read, so his field vision needs improvement. He is also kind of a mess in the pocket. I think he is a backup at the end of the day.

Late round 3

Luke Falk- Washington State

Strengths: With Luke Falk, you are going to get a guy who is smart, tough, and experienced. At Washington State, the guy took a beating behind a horrible offensive line, but he always stood strong in the pocket. He also is an accurate QB, specifically in the short and intermediate areas. He is one of the smartest QB’s in the draft as well, as he can diagnose zone defenses. But let me just say, Im not a fan.

Weakness: The guy has a noodle arm. His arm strength is hilariously bad. I highly doubt he has the arm to make all the NFL throws. He is not an athletic guy, his mobility is non-existent. What makes matters worse is his pocket presence is horrible. The guy can’t move and he isn’t savvy enough to move within the pocket, because you don’t have to be the most athletic guy to have good pocket awareness, but he just doesn’t have it , and that is really concerning.  He has a weird throwing motion as well, and his footwork is sloppy and inconsistent. He just isn’t good at all. No. Thanks.

Round 6

Josh Allen Scouting Report

Strengths

Josh Allen has his flaws, but no one can deny the talent that he possesses, which easily gives him the highest ceiling out of any QB in the draft. So the potential is there. The first thing that stands out when watching Allen is his arm strength. It is absurd. He easily has the arm to make every throw, and he falls into the category of “special” arm strength. Along with his ridiculous arm strength, he has ideal size for a QB. He is built like big ben, and he has the athleticism to move around in the pocket. He is clean off the field and has shown to have a strong work ethic. His 2016 tape was really good, where he showed solid field vision and good accuracy in the short to intermediate part of the field. He also does a really good job throwing on the run.  So what can he improve upon?

Weakness

So what can he improve upon? Literally everything else. His mechanics are okay but need serious work, his footwork is all over the place, his accuracy can be a mess, he tends to stare down his receivers, and he has no feel within the pocket. He can have a perfectly clean pocket and abandon it for no reason.  All of this is concerning. But the two things that worry me the most are lack of touch and decision making. He seems to fire every throw instead of understanding touch passes. And the last thing is decision making. I want to throw my computer across the room whenever I see him roll out and throw across his body, overthrow his target and throw an interception. The guy has a ton of talent, but he doesn’t seem to have a feel for the game. I see the talent, but I am going to need to see it to believe it.
