Week 11 picks 1:00

Steelers 23 – browns 20

This game might be a trap game believe me. The Steelers are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the cowboys. They might come out pissed and fired up. Or they might play on the road like they have played on the road all year. Blowout losses to the eagles and Dolphins and another bad loss to the Ravens. I am going with the Steelers in a close one but watch out for the browns first win.

Cowboys 24-Ravens 17

The cowboys have it all and I am wondering when they are going to lose if they even do lose. The Ravens might be that team. They are very good against the run and that plays into the cowboys core strength. If the Ravens slow down the run, Dak might struggle. Dallas in a close one.

Lions 35 – Jaguars 24

I am buying into the lions stock. Quietly, Matt Stafford is having an MVP caliber type season. The ground game is non existent, but they don’t need it with Marvin Jones, golden Tate, and Eric Ebron. Just wanted to say that Blake bortles isn’t an NFL quarterback. Yes his numbers are good because he puts up numbers late in blowouts. He can’t read defenses and turns the ball over way too much

Colts 27 – Titans 23

Yes, the Titans are hot right now. But let’s face it. The division till runs through indy. It has been so for a while. The Titans haven’t won in Indianapolis since 2009. Yes, Mariota is has been hot. But let’s not overreact. The titans went off, but against one of the worst secondaries in the NFL in the packers. If they win today, I’ll be convinced that they are winning the division. But for right now, Colts in a close one.

Bengals 23 – Bills 24

The bengals are coming off of a tough 21-20 road to the Giants. They were exposed in many areas. I think this will continue to occur and this season will turn into a lost one for the Bengals in the end of the Marvin Lewis era. He has been great for them, but the team has reached their ceiling under him. It’s time for a change. As for the bills, I think they stay in the wild card hunt with a nice win on the road as they continue to run the ball well.

Chiefs 23 – Buccaneers 16

The Chiefs aren’t the flashiest team but they get the job done. They continue to find ways to win in impressive fashions. They win with great defense, best turnover differential in the NFL, and running the ball. The Bucs have a good young core but are a year or so away. Chiefs by a touchdown.

Giants 27 – Bears 20

The giants haven’t been great this year but they continue to win. Eli Manning has been great this year and Odell has had 6 touchdowns in the last 5 games. Forget about the beginning of the year, Odell is a second half of the year wide receiver like Russell Wilson. The defense has played great lately and Landon Collins, damn he is a DPOY candidate and has taken a huge jump from last year. As for the bears, this continues to be a downslide in a lost season. At least they saw nice glimpses from Jordan Howard who is really good.

Cardinals 26 – Vikings 21

Yeah it feels good to be right. The Vikings were fake. They were frauds. They relied on Defensive scoring and special teams to pull out games. But eventually those bounces stopped falling there way. The offense got exposed and the mistake of Sam Bradford continues to be proven. The cardinals may have a second half push for the playoffs but it might be too late. This will be a good game, one in which the cardinals steal late.

College basketball preview

My top 25 teams

1. Duke: duke is loaded. They have stud freshman in Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum, marques bolden, and frank Jackson. They also have veterans returning in Grayson Allen, Amile Jefferson, matt jones, Luke kennard, and chase jeter. They have the perfect blend of youth, potential, and experience. I would be shocked if they don’t reach at least the final four. The only thing standing in there way is the dreadfully deep ACC. Grayson Allen will be fighting for player of the year.

2. Kansas: Kansas is always loaded. They have the best backcourt in the country. Frank mason is great at driving to the hoop and is the teams consistent source of scoring. Devontae graham is a great shooter and when he plays well the whole team does. He plays great defense and is just great. Stud freshman Josh Jackson is a beast. Competitive, great defender, good slasher, and has passing skills. Needs to improve shot and his shot selection. They will improve through the year and win the big 12 once again.

3. Kentucky: is once again so good. They won’t be great early on, but will be great by January. D’aaron fox is John wall 2.0. Athletic, very quick, very fast, good handles, and a great passer. Malik monk is a high jumper and good shooter. Bam adebayo is the third big recruit and is more physically dominant then most players. With Isaiah briscoe back, Kentucky will be big time once again.

4. Villanova: the reigning champs will be competing once again. Josh hart, the heart(get it) of the team is a great player, doing everything well and is a great defender. Kris Jenkins is a great player and is more then just one shot. He is a great shooter and a versatile scorer. They have other nice players like Jalen Brunson and mikal bridges. Consistently good.

5. Oregon: Oregon is once again a threat out of the west. Dillion brooks is back and once he returns from a foot injury, he will be in the NPOY hunt. With Chris Boucher being one of the best defenders in CBB back and Tyler Dorsey back, they have all the ingredients to go to the final four

6. Louisville: I don’t know how to discribe it but I have a good feeling about Louisville this year. Donovan Mitchell is going to break out, and other returning starters will be big. Rick pitino is a great coach, and Louisville is really long and athletic and sound defensively. They are also adding 5 star recruit VJ king.

7. Xavier: xavier is going to be REALLY good. Edmond sumner is a stud for the musketeers. Trevon blueit is also back and he is there scorer. JP Macura is there leader and energizer. They have veteran talent coming back and a great coach.

8. Wisconsin: they are bringing EVERYONE back to a team who went to the sweet 16 last year. Greg ward is a great coach.

9. Gonzaga: the zags are a mix of returning players and transfers. The big center Karnowski is back. They are adding Jordan Matthews from California, Nigel Williams-Goss from Gonzaga, and Jonathan Williams from Missouri. Add in big time recruit Zach Collins and they have a lot of talent.

10. Indiana: so good on offense. Defense is sketchy. They have stud shooter in James Blackmon and Freshman Curtis jones. O.G. Anunoby is the next victor olidipo. Thomas Bryant is the best big man in the country. If defense plays okay, they are final four bound

It’s time to admit it, the cowboys are the best team in the NFC

This is really hard for me to admit. I, as a Giants supporter, have a deep burnin hatred for the cowboys. There fans especially annoy me to the highest level. But I can’t deny the facts. The cowboys are not only the best team in the NFC east, but the entire NFC.

Before the year I had my doubts for the cowboys. Romo couldn’t stay healthy and the defense was very suspect. My suspicions became true as romo hurt his back in the preseason. Season gone I thought. Little did I know that 4th round pick Dak Prescott would be this good. He has stepped in and been a star since day 1, taking care of the ball and making key plays. He has become the leader of the cowboys and one of the faces of the NFL. Behind him, another rookie has been a gamechanger. Ezekiel Elliot has been so good behind that o line, racking up 100 yard games after 100 yard games. He has great vision and burst and his spark and energy energize the team. He is great. But it all starts with that offensive line. They give Dak plenty of time to pick apart the defense, give zeke huge holes, keeps the defense off the field and keeps time of possession on there side. The cowboys are 6-1 and on top of the NFC. They are the best team and should be in the Super Bowl come February.

I love Odell, but he needs to get his act together

Odell will make or break the Giants season. Odell is a lot of things. Athletic, Talented, energetic, passionate, good dancer, diva. All those words can be used to describe Odell. His diva status could ruin the giants season if he doesn’t get his act together.

Odell is one of those guys who are different. Every time he touches the ball, he is a threat to take it to the house. He has the “it” factor every receiver desperately wants and needs. He is special and has a higher ceiling then any wide receiver or player in the NFL. But there is one thing that will keep Odell from achieving all time greatness. Odell. Odell’s biggest threat is Odell. He seems to be a good guy, but he has thin skin and once someone or something ticks him off he will go nuts. He will play dirty. He says he is being competitive but he is just not playing the game the way it should be played. When he is on, he is un guardable. He has speed, quickness, great hands and route running ability. No man on earth can stay with Odell when he is focused and at the top of his game. But he has been distracted lately. He is making these own personal battles with guys like Josh Norman of the Redskins and Xavier Rhodes of the Vikings. He gets so focused on beating them, he forgets the main goal is to win the game. So then he makes dirty plays and gets an unsportsmanlike penalty. So now he has to keep his energy in check. When he does that he loses his passion, drive, and competitiveness that makes him elite and special. So the point is this. Get help for whats happening and learn to control your anger. I don’t think it is fair how closely they monitor Odell, but he needs to steer into the skid and deal with it. If he doesn’t, the giants season could be doomed. The whole roster feeds off of Odell’s energy, and when he isn’t on his game or he is distracted, his teammates won’t play with energy as well. Odell needs to understand that he is a team leader and when he goes the team goes. I really hope he figures it out, because I really wouldn’t like to see another great talent creep into the T.O. category.
